Most exciting so far is Melissa graduated pre-school. I wish that I could have been there to see her. I know that she has made so much progress. Not even a year ago she only knew a few phrases in english. Now she can carry on full conversations with people in english, more than that, you would be lucky to get in a word with her while talking to her. She loves to talk and is not afraid to talk to anybody. She is the most adorable little girl too, so anybody that does get a chance to talk to and meet her is an instant fan. She has also impressed her teachers at the pre-school she has been going to and they have told us that they wish they could have 20 of her in the class.

Noah is now just a few days shy of being 2 months old. He is growing so fast and Eva tells me about how I am missing out on all of the fun stuff. He is curious of everything going on around him and he has a great smile.

Noah is not the only one getting older either. Eva is having a birthday on the 19th this month. Apparently her husband is a master gift finder. Well, in all honesty we are all hoping that he does better next year. I wish her all the best this year on her birthday and that she enjoys it. She means everything to me and if there was a way to put that in a gift that's what I would get her. She is a great wife and a great mother also.

Our anniversary is also coming up at the end of this month. It sometimes seems like bad timing on my part to have gotten married so close to my wife's birthday. Too much for one man to remember in one month? Some may think so but I hope to do ok through the years. At least I have remembered this year.

As for me I have still been very busy in Baghdad. I am currently making trips too often into downtown Baghdad to help build and maintain a network that we are trying very hard to get the Iraqi Army to use in order to be more efficient out here. When that happens it will be much easier for us to leave this place in hands that are capable of handling their own issues. Work unfortunately is my life here, and I miss my family back in Germany, and my family back in the States too. I wish you all the best, and can't wait to see you all again.

More Changes

So it has once again been a while since I have updated my blog, and there are definitely some changes in my life. So Eva and I are waiting on Noah to join us in this world. He should be born sometime in the end of April. We are so excited. I’m sure that Melissa has no clue how much it is going to change her life to have a little brother. She says that she wants to help out with things, but we’ll see how well that works out. I just hope that she doesn’t get too disappointed with less attention.
So my Eva has been doing pretty good with this pregnancy. I am so thankful since I am not able to be around through it being stuck in Iraq, again. While in Iraq I couldn’t be more glad for the woman I have in my life. Eva is so supportive of me and is always there for me even when I know that she has more going on than I do. She is the greatest. I have no clue what I would do without her. I will finally be getting back to see her and Melissa and hopefully Noah also in April. I have never missed people so much in my life. It has been hard for me to be away from my two gorgeous ladies.

So I will soon be venturing into new teritory next month. I've never once had to change a diaper or had to feed a baby, or be woken up in the middle of the night by a crying baby either. So I hope that you could all wish me luck. I'm sure that my wife will show me all the ropes though and expect me to soon be a pro at it all. I promise I'll be doing my best.

So another round in Iraq for me that has been now just 2 and a half months, but should only max out at 12 months this time. It's already getting over 90 degrees out here and it's just the beginning of March. I don't look forward to all of this heat.

Update

Well, a lot has happened since I last updated my blog here and I guess it is about time that I let everybody know what has been going on in the past few months. On June 27th I finally did something that has changed my life for the best. I married the most wonderful girl that makes me so happy.

Eva knows how much I love her and takes advantage of it as often as she can. She loves the free back rubs and foot massages and can never get enough. Another addition to my family is Eva's 4 year old daughter.

She is so adorable and I fell in love with her just as quick as I did with her mother. She helps me so much to learn German and hopefully one day it will be good enough to speak with all of Eva's family. Things have been going pretty well for us now and we will be adding to the family come next april. So Melissa will have a brother or sister to play with. That is close to her birthday so hopefully she will think it is a cool birthday gift.
My unit is now preparing to go to Iraq once again this December so that is terrible timing but we are hoping that I will be able to be back at least for the birth. It is very hard to time that while in Iraq but I'll do my best. Luckily this time it will only be for twelve months that I am there and not 15 like last time. But don't worry all of you about me while I am there. Since I am a computer jockey I am always in an office and never leave the base.

So as of right now I can't complain about anything. I have a wonderful family that I love so much and they are so good to me. They keep me sane throughout all of the mundane and sometimes stressful times that comes with being in the army.

Just another day.

So yesterday started out as a pretty good day. It was a normal start for Germany. Wet weather in the morning and chilly. So as Eva and I are sitting together relaxing inside she gets a phone call from one of her friends who is not having the best day. So we decide to go and see her to maybe help cheer her up and maybe give some good advice. So Eva Melissa and I meet up with Beatrice at a restaurant a little ways away and have a good dinner. My hawaii burger was pretty tasty and the company was great. After dinner we went to a park that had a playground for Melissa, turns out the other two girls might have had more fun there than Melissa. Well, after this is where the day gets interesting. We leave the park and I was taking Eva and Melissa back to their place. First off I didn't know exactly where I was at and didn't know where to go so that wasn't going to well and Melissa needed to throw up while I was trying to find out where I was going so we pulled over to the side of the road. Then I finally find the freeway and just a few minutes later Melissa needed to throw up again but we were nowhere near a place where we could pull over. So there was a little bit of projectile vomit on the back of the front passenger seat and all down the front of poor little Melissa. Just after that we find a place to pull over and get her cleaned up. She must have felt a little better after that because she was really chatty and didn't complain after that. So we are close to Eva's moms house where Eva had her car and my car just quit on me and not a lot of room to pull over. So you could imagine that the past couple of hours just wasn't going too well. Luckily Eva has what is like AAA in the states and it covered my car since "she" was driving. And somebody came out to look at the car and tow it if necessary, and all it was was a fuse that had blown, which he found in about five minutes. With all of the problems that happened in the last couple of hours I was stressed and annoyed but it was all great to just be with two great girls that I really love. I hope that they both realize how happy that they make me and that even getting stuck on the side of the road for an hour or two isn't so bad when I'm with them.
New Life

So it has been a while since I have wrote anything new on here and a lot of things have changed for me. My life has become quite blissful lately as I have been dating the most wonderful woman I have ever met. Even better she has accepted to be my wife. I met Eva almost two years ago, but I was not very quick to pursue after her until after the loooong 15 months spent in Iraq. I felt very fortunate that she was still available when I got back as I said before she is the most wonderful woman I have ever met. She has an adorable 3 year old daughter named Melissa. I have never met anybody comparable to her and she makes me feel like I'm on top of the world when I am with her. I normally try not to sound so cheesy about things but I guess that's what love does sometimes. Everything is so exciting, I am glad to be back in Germany and can't wait to get married. I'll try to keep up to date on this for all my readers and in the mean time have a good day.

La Mouche.

I was watching TV the other day at work (yeah, i got nothing better to do there), and a classic came on. I hope you all have seen it. The Fly, you know that crazy movie with Jeff Goldblum, where he transports himself from one pod all the way to another one about 10 feet away. Well, he gets his DNA combined with a fly that was in the pod with him and eventually becomes a huge fly monster. Totally cool. Anyways, since i was so busy at work I thought it would be a good idea to google teleportation. So I spent maybe an hour or so reading all the things that came up on that and it all seemed pretty interesting and maybe one day we will really be able to teleport ourselves instantaneously from one planet to another or maybe just to work across town. Possibilities just seem endless. The only thing is in order for it to work you have to destroy the original. Well, I am kind of getting off the point here. While I was searching through teleportation there was a link to time travel also. And why not? I'm sure there are as many scientists working on that one as there are on teleportation. So I read up on time travel also. I know you all must be thinking that I had a pretty busy day at work. You would be right. I don't usually get so much done. Well, all the time travel stuff seemed pretty cool too, with all the black hole theories and what not. Well, i got bored with all of that eventually and my shift was over. I went back to my room and thought that I had forgotten all about everything I did at work. I slept pretty good that night, but woke up remembering such a strange dream. No I didn't dream that I was a giant killer fly, even though that would have been cool also. I had a dream that I went back in time. That is the first time that I had ever had a dream like that. I wish I could remember all of the details but what I can remember will have to do. I remember first realizing that I wasn't were I was supposed to be. That didn't dissapoint me one bit since I should have been in Iraq. I was back in my hometown of Salina. It was probably around 1993. I can't remember how I figured out that I was in the past but I think it was because I had seen a friend and he was just a little kid. So since I was in my hometown I thought it would be a good idea to drop by and see the family since i don't do that often enough. On the way over I'm thinking to myself, how am I going to explain this? I ring the doorbell and one of my brothers comes to the door and invites me in. The whole family was there but here comes an even wilder twist to the dream, there was two of everybody. It was just so chaotic that I couldn't explain who I was or anything, seeing as there are 8 people in the family when there is just one of everybody. Well, I gave up on trying to tell them who I was and I woke up. Horrible ending, I know. I wish i could have given some stock tips to my dad or something. Like Google. That would have been great. Oh well, maybe next time I go back. Anyways I just wanted to say Jeff Goldblum is a great actor, isn't he?

FW: FW: FW: Take a look at this.

Well, here I am again with something new to add to this wonderful blog. I have been keeping a tally over the last few months of all of the forwards I get in my email. It has reached up to a total of 183 now since February. Now I know that I must not be the only person out there who receives this many forwards but I have to ask you, what do you do with these forwards? I think I might have forwarded one or two, but I haven't seen many worthy to be sent to the people in my contact list. I would hate to bother them with such nonsense. I know that all of you out there must think that most of these forwards are ridiculous. I wonder how many people out there have continued to forward things out of fear of what was promised would happen to them if they didn't forward it. Lets get real people, nothings going to happen. I don't need to be bothered by these forwards anymore. This is my official protest. Now don't get me wrong I have recieved some interesting things before but it is pretty rare. If all of these forward only had real promisses in them. I would be able to have so many good things happening to with just the click of a button. Well, I have seen Amber Alerts confirmed, I have had so many stock tips, I have had enough jokes that I could compile a book(some of them were actually decent jokes). Anyways I guess my point is: If you are going to send me something by email I would much more rather it be something from you. I like to know how you are doing, not what you call a mentally handicapped person in a nice suite. I already know you call him Mr. President.

Well, if you enjoyed this post I would suggest forwarding it to some friends. I'm not sure how many of my readers know about this show but I am not going to say what show it is. I will just give a few hints. There is a character of the show that is my favorite called Barney. There are a few aspects of his life that I would like to integrate into my own. For one I have realized by watching this show that I have an extra gene of awesome like he does. Also I am going to start "suiting up". Oh yeah that's right it is going to be "legen... wait for it... dary. High five. Well, I don't know if those hints will give it away but for those of you who figured it out, that's pretty much me right there.

Back to Work

Well, I had a short break from things out here in the big ol' sandbox. It was a nice relaxing couple of weeks in the states, and I got to see some old friends. So now here I am back to work. Or it is probably more proper for me to say back at work. I never really have done that much out here and it didn't change at all while I was gone. My days are filled with hours of waiting. I sit at work and wait for something to come up for me to do. The upside of all of the waiting is I get to take some online classes. I think i am now an expert underwater basket weaver and I'm getting pretty good at chinese checkers also, no time is wasted online, it is all very well spent. Anyways, when I got back to this wonderful country the weather had dramatically changed. I left Utah with some decent weather, probably somewhere in the 50's and now I get back here and within a week we had near 100 degree weather. So what would anybody do with such wonderful weather? Well, risk death and great bodily harm of course. So we decided to put the weather to the test and found the driest field around at the hottest time of the day, and got a group of restless warriors together to battle to the death. Well, maybe it wasn't as intense as I make it sound but it was a wonderful game of football anyways. The heat didn't really get to anybody, and I think I might have even started a nice tan for the summer.

If you are looking for me in the picture I am the one wearing the gray shirt and black shorts and a short haircut. Oh, and of course I was on the winning team. Tonight we also had a wonderful sand storm. I walked outside and my mouth and nose was instantly filled with sand and I couldn't tell what I was wearing by the time I got back indoors my clothes were so covered with sand. Even with all of these wonderfully exciting events that have recently passed in my life I am settling back into the regular routine of work. I can't wait to become a civilian once again. Come on, only 1064 more days to go, but hey, who's counting.
