Back to Work

Well, I had a short break from things out here in the big ol' sandbox. It was a nice relaxing couple of weeks in the states, and I got to see some old friends. So now here I am back to work. Or it is probably more proper for me to say back at work. I never really have done that much out here and it didn't change at all while I was gone. My days are filled with hours of waiting. I sit at work and wait for something to come up for me to do. The upside of all of the waiting is I get to take some online classes. I think i am now an expert underwater basket weaver and I'm getting pretty good at chinese checkers also, no time is wasted online, it is all very well spent. Anyways, when I got back to this wonderful country the weather had dramatically changed. I left Utah with some decent weather, probably somewhere in the 50's and now I get back here and within a week we had near 100 degree weather. So what would anybody do with such wonderful weather? Well, risk death and great bodily harm of course. So we decided to put the weather to the test and found the driest field around at the hottest time of the day, and got a group of restless warriors together to battle to the death. Well, maybe it wasn't as intense as I make it sound but it was a wonderful game of football anyways. The heat didn't really get to anybody, and I think I might have even started a nice tan for the summer.

If you are looking for me in the picture I am the one wearing the gray shirt and black shorts and a short haircut. Oh, and of course I was on the winning team. Tonight we also had a wonderful sand storm. I walked outside and my mouth and nose was instantly filled with sand and I couldn't tell what I was wearing by the time I got back indoors my clothes were so covered with sand. Even with all of these wonderfully exciting events that have recently passed in my life I am settling back into the regular routine of work. I can't wait to become a civilian once again. Come on, only 1064 more days to go, but hey, who's counting.
